Hello From San Diego

This Pre-Snap Read-free week has my batteries recharged, which is a good thing: May is just around the corner, and you know what that means. Just because Im away from the hustle and bustle doesnt mean I havent been keeping my ears to the ground, however Ive heard about Terrelle Pryors assertion that hes returning in 2011, or about the Iowa and Nebraskas back-and-forth over the upcoming rivalry game, Ive been attuned to the comings and goings, so Im ready to get back at it come Sunday and Monday. What else have I learned? Well, Ive discovered a few things about San Diego, which Ill share with you now despite this conversation not being entirely college football-related.
1. Youll be somewhat emasculated by the military portion of San Diegos male population. Nothing that can be done about that, I suppose, minus enlisting yourself. They may shoot glances at your companion; just take it like a man.
2. People drive fast. I like that.
3. I was impressed by the quality of the Asian cuisine. And the Mexican food, of course, though San Diego is not necessarily a hotbed of culinary perfection.
4. The weather is as good as advertised. Better, even.
5. Its easy to see yourself being happy out here. The weather is superb. The food is just good enough. The people are nice. Its the anti-New York at times. Would one go stir crazy, perhaps, making the transition from coast to coast? Yeah, maybe. But its a thought.
Anyway, Pre-Snap Read is back for the remainder of 2011 and beyond beginning on either Sunday or Monday, depending on travel plans. So get ready.
