PREP SOCCER: Battle sweeps Lee High

Girls Soccer

John Battle 6, Lee High 0

It was Senior Night at Sugar Hollow Park, and Trojan senior Lindsey O’Quinn made the most of it.

O’Quinn, who started the game at keeper, moved to the pitch during the second half and scored a natural hat trick to help lead battle to a win. Lyndsey Bowers spent the second half in the net after scoring the match-opening goal to help preserve the shutout. Lee added an own-goal and Carrie Owens put one in the back of the net for the Trojans to round out the scoring.

John Battle 7, Lee 0

Matt Fleenor had four goals in John Battle’s Clinch Mountain District win over Lee High.

Brent Swiney, Richard Blaylock and Ben Haderer each had one goal for the Trojans . Goalie Matthew McMurray had the shutout.
