Watervliet Christmas Tree Lighting 2010

Written by Bella Burnell on December 13, 2010 – 7:07 pm

Every year, shortly after Thanksgiving, the City of Watervliet welcomes winter and the accompanying holidays with its tree lighting ceremony. With a busy schedule of events and attractions, a few hundred people brave the cold each year to get in the Christmas spirit.

A staple of the event is the ornament giveaway, where people in attendance can get a commemorative Christmas ornament (Sorry for the poor quality of this picture) with the name and year of the ceremony written on it.

The following is a video made for Video Production for the Internet, a video journalism class we’re taking at The College of St. Rose, detailing this year’s ceremony and what you can expect to see in the coming years. Merry Christmas!
