History repeated itself at Judy Kirsch Field on the campus of Brunswick High School Saturday night.
In Week 10, St. Ignatius High School defeated St. Edward, 20-17. In the regional semifinal (Week 12), the same scenario played out.
The Wildcats, in dramatic fashion, ended the Eagles season, and their bid to defend the Division I state championship by way of an exciting win over St. Edward, 20-17.
Senior Tim Shenk, one of the more accurate kickers in St. Ignatius history, added another chapter to his impressive resume with a game-winning field goal from 32 yards out as time expired on the clock.
St. Ignatius, 10-2, will now advance to a Division I regional championship game against the Mentor-Solon winner next Saturday from a site yet to be determined.
